When days are sunny and warm but it's still cool at night, the greenhouse is a great place to work. It is full of tender leafy greens for eating and small seedlings that will soon be ready to set out in the fields as the season warms.
Summer
When the fields are full of crops in summer, the greenhouse is sometimes too hot for most plants. Find a shady corner to start fall crop seedlings such as broccoli or cabbage that will be ready to set out on cooler September days.
Fall
You can seed overwintering plants during the early fall and pick fresh greens and salad mix all through the winter! Enjoy a carrot pulled fresh from the greenhouse or ripened tomatoes on Christmas Day!
