El Valle
Youth Farm to Market

Our Program

El Valle Youth Farm to Market provides hands-on training in sustainable agriculture
all year long for youth ages 10-18.

Summer Classes

Summer is the heart of our program.  Flowers blossom, bees buzz, and farmers are in the field. The Summer 2016 program begins Tuesday 31 May at 8:00 a.m. and runs every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 8 – noon until school starts at the end of August.

After School Programs

Farmers work every day, year round.  During the fall, we offer an after-school program from 4-6 p.m. and on Saturdays so students can continue their farming experience. Activities include field clean-up, composting, and planting of winter crops and greenhouse greens.  Check the Fall and Winter After School 2016 Schedule here (available in early August).

Harvest Dinners

Each season, YFTM celebrates its bounty with a community harvest dinner.  Students harvest, prepare, and serve a community meal using produce they have grown.  Families and friends come together to celebrate  food, farming, and community. Learn about our harvest dinners.

Frontier Community Initiative

The El Valle Youth Farm to Market Program was proud to have been selected as a Frontier Community Initiative.  YFTM  worked with program directors from New Mexico MainStreet  for 6 months on developing and expanding the YFTM program..
